Ascension
Inspiration for this painting:The brown pelican, Louisiana’s state bird, has had a rough time. The sides of the original painting are covered in globby black paint to represent the oil spill. Crawfish angels are taking the pelican to Heaven. The three fish represent the Holy Trinity.

Heart of the Hurricane
The inspiration for this painting is an angel of New Orleans as the center of a hurricane, holding her own. The holy spirit is with her.
The original was donated to The Chris Owens French Quarter Easter Parade, which raises money to buy musical instruments in schools in the New Orleans area.
